Laura Rutherford, age 50, passed away on February 22, 2010, at Lake City, Iowa.

Laura Benadean Herridge was born on January 21, 1960, at Jefferson. She was the daughter of Gordon and Deloris (Bobbit) Herridge. Laura graduated from Jefferson High School in 1978. On September 15, 1977, Laura married Larry Rutherford at Churdan. The couple has made their home in Pomeroy since their marriage. Laura worked at the Pomeroy Care Center until she was forced to quit due to her failing health.

Laura was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pomeroy. She enjoyed cooking, collecting dolls and Garfield memorabilia.

She is survived by: Larry Rutherford of Pomeroy; sons: Eric (Sandy) Rutherford of Pocahontas and Evan (Jenny) Rutherford of Fort Dodge; grandchildren: Kolbe, Mackenzie and Owen; step-mother: Lillian Herridge of Jefferson; sisters: Mary (Glen) Johnson of Nebraska, Vicky Herridge of Jefferson and Deann Estrada of Texas; brothers: Gordon (Janet) Herridge and Sean Herridge, both of Jefferson and step-sister, Linda Karber of Jefferson

Laura was preceded in death by her parents.
