Biography

Jo Ann Churchill – 73, of Pocahontas, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa.
Jo Ann Gregory was born September 4, 1936, near Lake City, IL. She was the daughter of Jeffie and Clarine (Garmon) Gregory. She attended White Oak Ridge Country School in Kentucky at the age of four. She married Jimmy Livingood in 1953 and they had two daughters. In 1957, Jo Ann married Roy Elmo Livingood and the couple had six children and settled in Illinois. In 1976, Jo Ann married Duane Churchill and they lived in Lake View. Duane passed away in 2004.
Jo Ann was a member of the Baptist Church in Pocahontas where she served as secretary. She enjoyed painting, writing poems & stories, tutoring, studying the bible and taught the Good News Club. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Connie (Mark) Ludwig of Breda; Joyce (Ed) York of Humboldt; Tim (Lisa) Livingood of Marshall, MN and Jan (Peter) Ellin of Lehigh Acres, FL; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Nell Meadows of Lydon, IL; Sue (Paul) LeCrone of Sullivan, IL and Jane (Joe) Russell of Bethany, IL and brothers, Shorty (Judy) Gregory of Plainfield, IN; John (Carol) Gregory and Jim (Bev) Gregory of Sullivan, IL; and Wayne (Paula) Gregory of Raleigh, NC. Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane; sons, Eddie, Michael and Donald; daughter, Marsha; sisters, Tina Louise and Virginia and brothers, Henry and Elvis Coy.
