Alex C. Bravo, age 71, of Laurens, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023, at home in Laurens, Iowa.

Alex Canales Bravo Jr. was born September 25, 1951, in Oakland, California. He was the son of Alex Bravo Sr. and Elisa (Lira) Bravo. Alex attended Whisman Elementary and Crittenden Middle School in Mountain View, California. He later graduated from Mountain View High School in 1971. Following graduation, Alex began his career in Animal Care as an Animal Health Technician, working for many animal hospitals over the years. On September 15, 1979, Alex was united in marriage to Linda Drake in Sunnyvale, California. The couple lived in California where they raised their family, and Alex continued to work for Animal Hospitals. He later returned to school completing an Associates in Auto Cad from De Anza Community College in 1990. In 2011, Alex retired from South Penn Emergency Veterinarian Hospital due to his health. In 2022, the couple moved to Laurens.

Alex was an avid toy collector, especially Star Wars. He enjoyed building things, making large set decorations for the Halloween season. He loved taking his kids camping and swimming with his grandchildren. He especially loved the time he spent with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Linda of Laurens; daughter, Madonna (Jimmy) Gamboa of Laurens; son, Sandino Bravo of Santa Clara, CA; grandchildren, Jasmyn, Jionni, James and Jacob; sister, Mary Bravo of Milpitas, CA, and many cousins.

Alex was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Albert Bravo.
