Alice M. Ricklefs - age 83, of Pocahontas, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Alice Marie Hunter was born October 20, 1935, near Fonda, Iowa. She was the daughter of Cyrus Earl and Bernice (Peterson) Hunter. She attended country school and then graduated from Pocahontas High School in 1953. She later earned certification from the Certified Dietary Managers Association. On June 2, 1955, Alice was united in marriage to Erwin Ricklefs in Fort Dodge. The couple lived on a farm near Newell until the late 1950's when they moved to Pocahontas. In 1968, they moved to the family farm near Pocahontas. Alice worked as Dietary Manager at the Pocahontas Community Hospital for many years, retiring in the late 1990's. Erwin passed away in 1992. In April of 1993, Alice moved into Pocahontas.

Alice was a member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church and was active with the church circle. She was also a member of the Dietary Managers Association and the "Has Beens" Coffee Club. Alice enjoyed reading and having company visit her and she was an excellent cook. Most of all, Alice loved the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and family & friends.

Survivors include her children, Cindy (Dave) Hohensee of Marionville, MO; Brenda Hohensee of Monett, MO; Brian (Jodi) Ricklefs of Fort Dodge, IA; Connie (Rob) Schubert of Emmetsburg, IA; Glenda (Dave) Bleckwenn of Cylinder, IA and Lorie Ricklefs of Monett, MO; 14 grandchildren, Matthew, Mitch, Amanda, Joshua, Jarod, Justin, Jenna, Cody, Brianna, Brady, Latasha, Alicia, Emma and Maggie; 16 great-grandchildren, Briggs, Andrew, Addison, Madalynn, McKenzie, Keaton, Riley, Lucas, Jayden, Kalli, Chase, Lane, Ally, Akly, Mason and Jack; brother, Lyle (Jean) Hunter of Hutto, TX and brother-in-law, David Dunning of Tulsa, OK.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Erwin; sisters, Carol Dunning and Jean Stoelting and brothers, Charles in infancy and Lowell Hunter.
