   Alice Wiederin Riedesel was born on December 1, 1941, on her parents' farm near Ralston, Iowa. Her parents were Theodore and Rose (Sturm) Wiederin. Alice passed away on September 30, 2026, at Journey Senior Services in Carroll, Iowa, with family by her side. Alice attended school at Ralston, IA during her grade school and middle school years. Her high school years were spent at Glidden-Ralston, where she met her future husband, Bruce Riedesel. 

   Alice and Bruce were married on October 8, 1960, and settled into farming life on his family farm near Lanesboro, Iowa. Alice worked at the First National Bank in Glidden, Iowa, until young children encouraged her to stay home. Alice was soon driving all the farm equipment and continued to help out until semi-trucks were introduced to the harvest of crops. Then she became the lunch provider and Uber driver between fields. Alice also enjoyed playing bridge with her Bridge Club and was a member of the Open Hands Club in the Lanesboro area.

   When her children were older, Alice served on the School Board at Lohrville Community Schools. She also worked at Old Republic Insurance in Lake City, Iowa, for several years. She was a member of the Stewart Memorial Hospital Board in Lake City and a volunteer there for several years.

   Alice and Bruce enjoyed dancing together at many events, dancing the polka and two-step. During their 30 years wintering at Trophy Gardens in Alamo, TX, they enjoyed many dance events in nearby Mexico and made many friends. They also went on several cruise vacations with many friend groups. One of their highlight vacations was a two-month-long drive to Alaska and back, camping at many locations along the way. 

   Alice is survived by her husband, Bruce, of Lohrville, Iowa. Her children: Debra Webb (Dave Hanlon), Libertyville, IL; Donna (Jim) Bice, Fort Dodge, IA; Karla (Duane) Hobart, Broken Arrow, OK; Kelli (Brian) Draeger, Faribault, MN; and Brian (Rhonda) Riedesel, Churdan, IA. Several grandchildren including Matt (Betsy Hawley) Webb, Louisiana; Derek Webb, California; Michael Hanlon, Paton, IA; John Bice, Madison, WI; Nick Bice, Marshfield, WI; Jordan (Jaxon) Uhles, Norman, OK; Paige Hobart, Oklahoma City, OK; Boyd Draeger, Plato, MN; Brock Draeger, Cokato, MN; Hunter (Lily) Riedesel, Lohrville, Ia; Laci Riedesel, Chariton, IA; Norah Riedesel, Churdan, IA; and Josie Riedesel, Churdan, IA. Also several great-grandchildren including Lee and Reid Webb; Aubrey and Quinn Webb; Jacie Hanlon; Owen and Maddon Uhles; and Leighton Riedesel. Sister Irene (Dan) Wurzer, Minnesota; brother James (Kathy) Wiederin, Omaha, NE; sister-in-law Jolene Wiederin, Carroll, IA; and sisters-in-law Betty Wiederin, Glidden, IA, Joyce Conner, Glidden, IA. Also many nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

   Alice is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore (Rose) Wiederin; father and mother-in-law, Martin (Olive) Riedesel; brothers: Robert (Karen) Wiederin, Merle Wiederin, Elmer Wiederin; brothers and sisters-in-law: Zola (Junior) Beckman, Duane Conner. 

   Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4th from 3:00 - 5:00 PM with a 5:00 PM Rosary, at Lampe and Powers Funeral Home, 418 N. Hancock St., Lake City, IA. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 221 N. Lloyd Street, Lake City, IA, on October 5th at 10:00 AM, followed by burial at the Lanesboro Cemetery and a funeral luncheon at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Memorials will be left to the discretion of the family.
