Allan L. Minkler, age 69, of Plover, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at the Fort Dodge Villa in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Allan Lee Minkler was born on November 14, 1949, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was the son of Floyd and Doris (Harmon) Minkler. Al was educated in Havelock-Plover schools, graduating in 1968. On July 12, 1975, Allan was united in marriage to Karen Stearns in Pocahontas. The couple lived in Pocahontas for several years before settling in the Plover area.

Al began working for Iowa Industrial Hydraulics in June of 1968, working there until it closed in 2002. Al then worked at Chatlands in Humboldt from 2003 to 2005. In 2005, he went to work at Positech in Laurens, retiring in 2014.

Al was a member of Hope United Methodist Church, he enjoyed working in his garden, and riding moto-cross bikes, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. His favorite thing to do was to ask his grandkids, "Do you have five bucks?"

Survivors include his wife, Karen; children: Allan Jr. (Cathy) of Rolfe, Cory of Mallard and Heather (Jesse) Beekman of Fort Dodge; grandchildren: Joe, Philip, Breyanne and Abby Minkler, Carter, Joshua and Jacob Beekman and Bryce & Braxton Long and a brother, Gayle (Heide) Minkler of Texarkana, Texas. Al was preceded in death by his parents.
