Private family graveside services for Ardys will be held

at the Laurens Cemetery, Laurens, Iowa.

Ardys A. Hanisch, age 94, passed away on July 21, 2020, at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, AZ.
Ardys Ann Foster was born in Wanda, MN on September 28, 1925 to Ernest and Elizabeth (Fuchs) Foster. She graduated from Ware Consolidated School in Ware, IA. Ardys married Cecil Hanisch on November 10, 1947 in Havelock, IA. The couple made their home in Laurens. Ardys devoted her life to raising her five children and never missed their many activities. She adored her grandchildren, and they dearly loved her and her endless supply of the 'best chocolate chip cookies in the whole world!' Cecil and Ardys enjoyed playing golf and often made it a family event with the kids and grandkids. They were blessed to have been able to spend 27 winters in Arizona after retirement. They were married 61 years until Cecil's death in 2009. Ardys will be best remembered for her quick wit, her love for watching sports, especially her Chicago Cubs, those chocolate chip cookies, and her devotion to her grandchildren.

Ardys is survived by her five children: Larry (Karyl) Hanisch of Mobile, AL, Linda (John) Ganem of Tempe, AZ, Diane (Lary) Hunter of Waverly, IA, Susan Rotert of Littleton, CO, and Leisa Finley of Okoboji; ten grandchildren: Christie (David) Pusateri and Alison (Gene) Ganssle of Tempe, AZ, Caleb Janus of Chandler, AZ, Andrea (Eric) Orman of Waverly, Scott (Jamie) Hunter of Okoboji, Sadie Rotert and Sonja (Joe) Lawrence of Littleton, Sheena (Beto) Viramontes of El Paso, TX, Briana (Jason) Foster of Estherville, Kyle Finley of Okoboji; and 12 great grandchildren.

Ardys was preceded in death by her parents, husband Cecil, brothers Donald, Merle, Fay, Dell, Lyle, and Lynn Foster, sister Beth Stevenson, and son-in-law Denny Rotert.
