Arlene A. Simons, age 88, formerly of Palmer and Fort Dodge, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Good Samaritan Society in Manson, Iowa.

Arlene Anita Habben was born on September 29, 1937, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She was the daughter of Herman and Minnie (Hartman) Habben. She was educated at Palmer schools, graduating from Palmer High School. Arlene lived in Fort Dodge where she worked as secretary for the Industrial Center. On February 2, 1974, Arlene was united in marriage to Thomas Simons in Fort Dodge, Iowa. From this union one daughter was born, Jennifer.  They lived in Fort Dodge before moving to Arkansas. They then moved to Omaha where Arlene worked at Millard High School as a teacher assistant and then for Oriental Trading Co. in their Human Resources Department. Jennifer passed away in June of 2020. After retiring, the couple moved to North Liberty. Tom passed away in April of 2024 and in June of 2024, Arlene returned to Fort Dodge. In Sept. of 2025, Arlene moved to the Manson Good Samaritan Center.

Arlene loved following many sporting activities and teams, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes, Minnesota Vikings and the Indiana Fever.

Survivors include her brothers, Harlan (Marian) Habben of Okoboji and Virgil (JoAnn) Habben of Albert City and many nieces and nephews.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas and daughter, Jennifer.
