Barbara Hart, age 62 of Lake City, IA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 3, 2025, in Greene County, IA.  Barbara JoAnn was born on January 31, 1963, to parents Kenneth and Rose (Ernst) Kraft in Fort Dodge, IA.  She grew up in Rockwell City, IA, on the family farm with her three brothers where she attended Rockwell City grade school, and graduated from Rockwell City High School.

On September 26, 1987, Barbara was united in marriage to Roger Hart.  This union was blessed with three children: Justin, Samantha, and Tabitha.  Barbara spent the majority of her life working at Opportunity Living for over 30 years, after working at Casey's and Rosie's Diner.  When her children were younger, Barbara was their Girl Scout Leader for several years and she was a proud member of the Central Church in Carroll, IA.  She also enjoyed camping, and traveling, and was a huge foodie, always wanting to try new places to eat.  Barbara was a dog lover and liked watching her television show series.  Most of all, Barbara was a proud wife, mom, and grandma.  She loved spending time at her grandkids' events, having grandma sleepovers, visiting her dad, being with family at the farm or Lake City, and creating memories with nieces and nephews.  She also went on many sightseeing trips with Roger.  Barbara also cherished her "girls' day" with her best friend, Marilyn Thompson, and daily FaceTime with the grandchildren.  She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Roger Hart of Lake City, IA; children: Samantha (Marcus) Irwin of Glidden, IA, and Tabitha (Matthew) Daniel of Rockwell City, IA; grandchildren: Madison, Michael, and Melody Irwin, and Chelsey and Summer Daniel; father Kenneth Kraft of Rockwell City, IA; siblings: Rick Kraft of Rockwell City, IA, Kenneth (Cindy) Kraft of Rockwell City, IA, and Keith (Kelly) Kraft of Rockwell City, IA; brothers-in-law: Rod (Charlotte) Hart of Yetter, IA, and Rick Hart of Lanesboro, IA; several other extended family members and many friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her son Justin; mother Rosie Kraft; and In-laws Wayne Hart, Marlene Hart, and Marlene Prill.

A Funeral Service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., on Saturday at the Lake City Union Church and there will be a Visitation at the church from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. The burial will occur at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Rockwell City, Iowa.
