Bette J. Beekmann – age 80, of Papillion, Nebraska, formerly of Pocahontas, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at her home in Papillion, Nebraska.

Bette Jane Hansen was born on July 17, 1941, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She was the daughter of Robert and Margaret (Thompson) Hansen. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1959 and went on to attend Eagle Grove Community College. In February of 1966, Bette was united in marriage to Gary Beekmann in Eagle Grove. The couple settled on a farm near Pocahontas. In addition to raising her family, Bette worked as a Real Estate agent for Burns and Fitzgerald Realty in Pocahontas. In August of 1987, Bette moved to Omaha. She worked as an office temp until retiring in 1990.

Bette was a past member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and Beta Sigma Phi in Pocahontas.

Survivors include her daughters, Tamara Clatanoff of Allen, Texas and Leah (Chris) Butler of Papillion, Nebraska and four grandchildren. Bette was preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Houghton.
