Betty Knapp, age 95 of Clive, IA, formerly of Lohrville, IA, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at her home at Woodlands Creek Senior Living in Clive, IA.  Betty Ann was born on July 11, 1927, in Des Moines, IA, to parents Cornelius and Mary Ida (Dagnillo) Van Ginkle.  She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School and furthered her education at Iowa Methodist School of Nursing, graduating in 1948, with her RN degree.

On November 27, 1949, Bette was united in marriage to Eldred Mitchell Knapp, they made their home in Lohrville, Iowa where she resided for 65 years prior to moving to Clive. This union was blessed with four children: Bob, Tom, Susan, and Kathryn.  Bette worked as an RN at McCrary Rost Clinic for 25 years.  She was a long-time member of the Lohrville Methodist Church and always volunteered to help with the activities.  Bette was also a past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, Estudo Club, United Methodist Church Women's group, and on the Calhoun Country board of health.   In her free time, Bette enjoyed golfing, gardening, and flowers.  She loved going to the casino, playing bingo, attending her bridge club get-togethers, watching the Chicago Cubs, and Iowa State Football games.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Bob (Deb) Knapp of Urbandale, IA, Tom (Sue) Knapp of Des Moines, IA, Susan Clapper of Manson, IA, and Kathryn (Ron) O'Connor of Waukee, IA; grandchildren: Jennifer (Adam) Bryant, Allison (Travis) Dryer, Mike (Abbie) Knapp, Jake (Erin) Clapper, Jordan (Emma) Clapper, Kristen (Jake) Anderson, and Sean (Kiki) O'Connor; seven great-grandchildren; sister Bobbie (Ron) Rowland of Dallas, TX; many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Bette was preceded in death by her husband Eldred Knapp, sister Jeanne, brother Buddy, and parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Lohrville Visions, Lohrville Library, or the United Methodist Church in Lohrville in Bette's name.
