In accordance with Betty's wishes, Private graveside services will be held at the Clinton-Garfield Cemetery near Rolfe, Iowa.

Betty J. Larson – age 78, of Rolfe, passed away Monday, March 14, 2022, at the Pocahontas Manor Care Center in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Betty Jean Spurling was born on December 25, 1943, in Fonda, Iowa. She was the daughter of James and Hazel (Peppel) Spurling. She graduated from Fonda High School in 1962. She worked as a nurse aid at the Fonda Care Center. On November 17, 1963, Betty was united in marriage to Gary Larson at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Rolfe, Iowa. The couple lived in Fonda for a short time before settling in Rolfe. Betty was a homemaker. Gary passed away in 2018.

Betty was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Rolfe. She was known for her homemade bread. Everyone she gave it to really enjoyed it. Betty enjoyed gardening, being outside, her grandkids, going for walks, helping her sister Rose, can and freeze sweet corn, playing bingo and having coffee with her sisters.

Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Vigdal of Rolfe; grandsons, Jonathon Vigdal and Josh (Jenna) Vigdal of Rolfe; great-grandchildren, Kinlee, Cordell, Everett and Jaxon and a sister-in-law, Dianna (Tom) Picton of Corydon, Iowa.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary; siblings, Robert, Rose, George, Frannie, Charley and James.
