Betty L. Segebart, age 96 of Lake City, IA, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City, IA.  Betty Lorraine Gorden was born on March 31, 1926, to parents Ellet and Stella Mae (Datterl) Gorden in Harrison County.  On September 24, 1944, Betty was united in marriage to Roy Segebart at the Lutheran Church in Buck Grove, IA.  She worked for a variety of people over the years from cleaning offices to the local theater.  She babysat in her later years, which she enjoyed greatly.  In 2015, Betty moved to Shady Oaks Care Center in Lake City.

Betty was a member of the Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Lake City.  She enjoyed her garden where she would can and freeze much of her produce for herself and her family. Her flowers also had a special place in her heart.  Betty also liked to embroider and made many quilts.  She and Roy liked to go fishing and take car rides in the country, but her best times were spent with family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Sharon (Steve) Kavonaugh; son Gene (Sharon) Segebart; grandchildren: Jennifer Kavanaugh, Kent (Diane) Segebart, Jody (Shane) Seil; seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Roy Segebart; sister Nettie Daisy; brothers Eddie, Bill, Plato, and Frank Gorden; and grandsons Chris and Matthew Kavanaugh.
