William C. Hubbell, age 62, of Pocahontas, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at his home in Pocahontas, Iowa.

William Charles Hubbell was born June 19, 1958 to Edward and Carmen (Fisher) Hubbell in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He graduated from Havelock - Plover High School in 1976 and went on to earn a Associates degree from Hawarden Community College. Bill served in the U.S. Marine Corps for two years. On May 28, 1983 he was united in marriage to Sarah Meyer in Pocahontas, Iowa. The couple settled in Pocahontas where Bill worked for the Pocahontas County Secondary Roads Department. He retired in 2013 after over 35 years of service. During his retirement he worked at the Pocahontas School Bus Barn, operated a snowplow for the DOT, and helped as a farm hand.

Bill enjoyed gardening and growing trees; he was meticulous with his lawn care. He bred and raised English Springer Spaniels, enjoyed woodworking, was a very skilled mechanic and could fix anything. He enjoyed camping and especially enjoyed vacations with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah; daughters, Brandi Hubbell of Kansas City, MO and Lindsey Hubbell of Cedar Falls, IA; mother, Carmen Hubbell of Pocahontas; sister, Cindy (Bob) Johnson of Hardy, IA; brothers, Eric (Teresa) Hubbell of Cody, WY, and Kirk (Katie) Hubbell of Plover and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his father.
