Bonnie J. DeWall – age 88, of Pocahontas, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Laurens Care Center in Laurens, Iowa.

Yvonne "Bonnie" Jean Gannon was born on July 13, 1935, in Pocahontas, Iowa. She was the daughter of Thomas and Gladys (Steiner) Gannon. She graduated from Pocahontas Catholic High School in 1953 and then worked at the Pocahontas Telephone Office. On October 1, 1955, Bonnie was united in marriage to A. Byron DeWall at Sacred Heart Catholic in Pocahontas. The couple settled in Pocahontas where they lived and raised their family. Bonnie was a homemaker for many years until the mid-1980's, when she began working at the Family Table. She retired after over 20 years of service in the restaurant business. A. Byron passed away in 2014, and Bonnie continued to make her home in Pocahontas.

Bonnie was a member of the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church and the Catholic Ladies Society. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, and playing bridge. She especially enjoyed social time with her sisters and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her children, John (Kay) DeWall of Pocahontas, Jean (Steve) Poppen of Minneapolis, MN, Cathy (Dr. Tim) Rice of Peoria, IL, Steve DeWall of Des Moines and Joe DeWall of Plainfield, IL; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Mark Gannon and Joe Gannon both of Chicago and a sister, Elaine Eral of Pocahontas.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband - A. Byron, grandson - Andrew Poppen, sister - Gwen Stokes and brothers - Francis, Bill, and John Gannon.
