Bonnie M. Frye – age 88, of Laurens, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at the Laurens Care Center in Laurens, Iowa.

Bonnie Mae Leith was born on February 8, 1933, on the family farm near Ware, Iowa. She was the daughter of Lloyd and Gladys (Trimble) Leith. She graduated from Havelock High School in 1950. On June 3, 1951, Bonnie was united in marriage to Erwin Frye at the United Methodist Church in Ware. The couple lived on a farm near Ware for a year before settling on the family farm near Laurens. Bonnie worked as a homemaker and farm wife. She also worked for several years at the Laurens High School Library. Erwin passed away in 2005 and Bonnie continued to make her home on the family farm. In 2014, she moved to the Laurens Care Center.

Bonnie was a member of the United Methodist Church and the UMW. She enjoyed baking, sewing and gardening and she loved music and dancing.

Survivors include her children, Virgil (Mary Blasing) Frye of Flagstaff, AZ, David (Angie) Frye of Storm Lake, Scott (Cheri) Frye of Laurens and Karen (Terry) Bent of Middletown, IL; grandchildren, Jeremy, Christi (Scott), Mandy, Jacob (Melissa), Hunter, Jason and Darci (Chris); great-grandchildren, Jayven, Jasmine, Evie, Owen and Lincoln; sisters, Jane Johnson of Pflugerville, TX, Rose (Gaylord) Nowack of Denver, IA and Joan (Russ) LaFever of Raleigh, NC.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Erwin; brothers, Roger Leith and Gary Leith and a brother-in-law, Roy Johnson.
