Boyd Halverson - age 65, of Laurens, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022, at the Pleasant View Nursing Home in Albert City, Iowa.

Boyd Halverson was born on June 9, 1956, in Storm Lake, Iowa. He was the son of Bendix and Margaret (Brown) Halverson. He graduated from Sioux Rapids High School in 1974. He went on to graduate from Iowa State University. Following his education, Boyd moved to Florida where he worked in construction for several years. He then returned to Iowa where he farmed in the Sioux Rapids and Rembrandt area. He also worked as a machinist at Goldstar and Positech in Laurens. On October 12, 2002, Boyd was united in marriage to Norma (Beuchle) Vickery in Marathon. The couple lived on the family farm near Sioux Rapids for several years before settling in Laurens.

Boyd was a member of the Sioux Rapids Baptist Church. In his early years, he enjoyed riding a unicycle and doing tricks. He enjoyed cooking from scratch and made excellent homemade ice cream and spaghetti sauce. Boyd loved spending time with his family and attending family gatherings.

Boyd is survived by his wife, Norma of Laurens; step-son, Mike Vickery of Sioux Falls, SD; siblings, Lee (Ginny) Halverson of Jackson, MS, Faith Blaskovich of Elkader, IA and Karen (Greg) Moehl of Story City, IA.

Boyd was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Gabe Blaskovich.
