Brenda G. Mehaffey, age 74, of Barling, Arkansas, formerly of Pocahontas, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Brenda Gail Risner was born October 5, 1949, in Nashville, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Hubert and Floy (Webber) Risner. Brenda was raised in Murfreesboro, Arkansas where she attended school and later earned her GED. In 1976, she moved to Pocahontas, Iowa, and October 4, 1976, Brenda was united in marriage to Alan Mehaffey in Pocahontas. The couple settled in Pocahontas where they raised their family. Brenda worked as a dishwasher at the Chateau and Ideal Café Brenda, then later as a CNA at the Pocahontas Manor Care Center where she retired in the late 1980s. Alan passed away in 2003. Over the years following Alan's passing, she lived in a few other states, and as of recently, she settled in Barling, Arkansas.

Brenda enjoyed drawing, crafts, crocheting, word puzzles, watching One Life to Live and playing Yahtzee and cards with her grandchildren. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her family.

Survivors include her children; Paul (Mia) Garrett of Dunn, NC, Tina (Shannon) Wood of Pocahontas, IA and Krystal (Mike) Hardy of Barling, AR; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Paula Guinn and Susie (Glen) Sweeden, both of Murfreesboro, AR, and many nieces and nephews.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Floy, and her husband, Alan.
