Brent James Bailey, born on May 28, 1971, in Pocahontas, Iowa, was sent to his eternal home on January 22nd, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was the beloved son of Lynn and Joyce Bailey. He was the middle son in a family of three siblings, with older brother, Brian Lynn Bailey, and younger brother, Brad Scott Bailey.

Brent is survived by his wife, Brenda Rodriguez; his son, William Bailey, and daughter-in-law, Aimee Bailey; and his grandson, Colson James Bailey. He will be forever cherished and remembered by his daughters, Gwyneth Brooke Bailey and Camille Grace Bailey, as well as his stepdaughter, Arianna Aponte. Brent also leaves behind his mother, Joyce; his stepfather, Floyd Mefferd; and his brothers, Brian (Michelle) and Brad (Melissa), along with many other family members and friends who will deeply miss him. He was preceded in death by his father, Lynn.

Brent graduated from Laurens-Marathon High School in 1989. After high school, he worked for 15 years at Gold Star, where he gained valuable manufacturing experience that would later be essential to his career path.

In 1996, Brent married Karla Verner, and in 1997, they welcomed their son, William James Bailey.

In 2001, Brent decided to explore new opportunities and moved to Des Moines, where he worked for Star Equipment as a sales representative. After a few years of providing excellent customer service to Vogelsang, the company offered him an exclusive position. This new role, combined with his 15 years of manufacturing experience, marked the beginning of a 25-year career in the water/waste industry as a Business Sales Manager. During these 25 years, he had the opportunity to travel to various countries in Europe, including Germany, Ireland, and Switzerland, as well as across the United States and Canada.

In 2001, he married Gaylene Cleland, and they built a home in Ankeny, Iowa. Together, they welcomed two beautiful daughters: Gwyneth Brooke Bailey in 2004 and Camille Grace Bailey in 2006.

Once again seeking a new adventure, Brent relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, with his daughters in 2014. Shortly after, he met Brenda, with whom he chose to spend the rest of his life. Brent and Brenda were married on July 27, 2022, after eight years together, blending their two families. He then became a bonus dad to Brenda's daughter, Arianna.

Brent came from a lineage of skilled woodworkers, a talent passed down from his father, Lynn. As the saying goes, 'The apple doesn't fall far from the tree' both of his brothers shared the same creative abilities, which led to friendly competition over their latest projects. He also gained mechanical experience from his stepfather, Floyd, which equipped him with the knowledge to assist engineers with water and waste pump installations. Brent didn't just sell pumps at Crane Pumps and Systems, his most recent job; he was also a valuable asset during sales analysis because of his extensive knowledge of various pumps and applications, he was often contacted for troubleshooting and providing feedback during pumps startups.

Brent was known to those who loved him (and if you knew him for an instant you loved him), as someone who said whatever was on his mind, no matter the potential for reaction (in fact likely sought the reaction), enjoyed life to the fullest and embraced precious moments with those he loved. Several memories in childhood and adolescence include lots of summers and time spent at Lake Okoboji, boating, skiing, and hanging near the water. Spending time with cousins getting into mischief, travelling between family's homes for a week or so at a time, making homemade murder movies with cousins, were some of the best memories ever. You just could not be around Brent and not enjoy the moments.

Brent will always be remembered as a loving son, brother, friend, and above all, a wonderful dad. He loved fishing, hunting, and listening to old country music. Spending time with family was one of his favorite things to do. Brent would not hesitate to give of himself or do whatever he could for those he loved, to make their moments more enjoyable or easier. Brent was a free spirit and a ray of light to everyone he touched. His purpose in life was to make people laugh and encourage others to value the good times spent with loved ones. As he once said, 'Be intentional in spending time with your family and friends—that is the main goal".
