Callen Charles Shimon, age 64, of Peoria, Arizona, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at his home.

Cal was Born March 7, 1958, in Fort Dodge, IA to Charles and Mary Ann (Schroeder) Shimon of Pocahontas, IA. He attended Pocahontas Catholic Grade School and graduated from Pocahontas Community High School in 1976.

He attended Drake University and took time out to pursue his PGA certification from San Diego Golf Academy in San Diego, CA. He was employed as a golf instructor at La Rinconada Country Club in Los Gatos, CA and also at Thunderbird Golf at South Mountain in Phoenix, AZ. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Business from Arizona State University.

Cal enjoyed biking, golfing with family and friends, supporting ASU and Arizona Cardinals and hosting his parents, family and friends in Arizona.

Cal is survived by his son, Seth Shimon of Austin, TX; parents, Charles and Mary Ann Shimon of Pocahontas, IA; sister, Carolyn Belk of Omaha, NE; brother, Edward (Debra) Shimon of Peoria, AZ; many nieces, nephews, cousins and longtime friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Shimon; nephew, Chad Shimon; our loving and dear Donna King, mother of their son, Seth.
