Carol A. Crotty – age 84, of Pocahontas, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Carol Anne Eckert was born on June 20, 1937, in Jackson, MN. She was the daughter of Edward and Alice (Verdick) Eckert. She graduated from Jackson High School in 1955. Following graduation, Carol attended Mankato Business College. On November 29, 1956, Carol was united in marriage to John Pivo in Jackson, MN. The couple lived in Jackson where they farmed until 1960. They lived and worked in Spirit Lake, Milford, and Primghar before settling in Pocahontas in 1968. Carol worked at the Pocahontas Community School for over 31 years as the school secretary. John passed away in 1995. On June 18, 1999, Carol was united in marriage to Paul Crotty in Pocahontas.

Carol was a member of the Resurrection of our Lord Catholic Church, Catholic Ladies Society, C.D. of A, Hospital Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and the Pocahontas Golf Club. Carol enjoyed golfing, playing cards, reading and going on walks.

Survivors include her husband, Paul Crotty of Pocahontas; daughter, Sue (Doug) Pearson of Carmel, IN; step-children, Colette (Mark) Fisher, Maureen (Kurt) Castillo, Cathy (Chuck) Rieb, Sheila (Brian) Gomez and Pat (Heather) Crotty; daughter-in-law, Kelly Bond; 15 grandchildren and 1 great-granddaughter.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; a daughter, Sally Pivo; brother and sister-in-law, John (Barb) Eckert and step-son, Tom Crotty.
