Charles "Chuck" Dale Brazel, 68, passed away on April 7, 2026, at Accura Healthcare of Pomeroy.

Chuck was born on August 15, 1957, in Lebanon, Oregon, to Donald J. Brazel and Marilyn (Hoesing) Brazel. He was one of seven children and grew up alongside his siblings, Tim, Cindy, Joleen, Judith, Jennifer, and Andrea.

He graduated from Truesdale High School in 1975. Throughout his life and went on to own and operate his own appliance repair business in the 1980s and later was employed by Fleming and Iowa Office Supply.

Chuck was the father of four children: Dana (Chelse) Brazel of Wausa, NE; Nathaniel Brazel (Charlie Vote) of Pomeroy, IA; Michael (Autumm) Brazel of Laurens, IA and Ashlie (Michael) Jergens of Havelock, IA and was a grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

In his spare time, Chuck enjoyed caring for his many plants, gardening and planning his next camping trip, always ready with a new gadget.

Chuck was known for his quick sense of humor, his many jokes, and mischievous playfulness, bringing lightness to those around him.

He is survived by his children; his siblings; and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Marilyn Brazel.

A visitation will be held at Powers Funeral Home in Laurens on Friday, April 17 from 5:00-7:00 PM.

In lieu of gifts, the family requests donations be made to Buena Vista County Conservation, who maintains Chuck's favorite campground.
