Charles "Chuck" Passow – age 82, of Pomeroy, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Charles Harry Passow was born March 12, 1940, on the family farm near Pomeroy, Iowa. He was the son of Louie and Hilda (Mohr) Passow. He attended country schools and graduated from Pomeroy High School in 1958. Chuck served in the U.S. Army Reserve for six years. On August 6, 1961, Charles was united in marriage to Darlene Ellis at the Jolley United Methodist Church in Jolley, Iowa. The couple settled on a farm north of Pomeroy where they farmed and raised their family. In 1995, they moved to the family home place north of Pomeroy. Chuck farmed for many years with his brother Merilyn. Chuck retired in 2010 and continued to make his home on the farm.

Chuck was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church. He served as the township trustee. He enjoyed all types of auto racing and was a Chicago Cubs fan.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Darlene of Pomeroy; son, Randy (Missy Becker) Passow of Pomeroy; grandchildren, Rachel Passow of Sheldon and Randon Passow of Pomeroy; sister, Sylvia Jessen of Baxter; sister-in-law, Marcella Passow of Pomeroy and several nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Merilyn.
