Cheryl (Sherry) A. Ruppelt formerly of Cypress, Texas, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020, at the age of 74 in the home of her daughter in Cypress, Texas and has been reunited by the Lord with her parents Myrt and Dick Logan.

Cheryl Aleise Logan was born on March 28, 1947 in Emmetsburg, Iowa. She was the eldest of four sisters and grew up mostly in Havelock, Iowa where she graduated from high school excelling academically and by becoming quite the basketball player, following in her mother's footsteps. Sherry went on to study literature and linguistics at The University of Iowa where she received her master's degree.

After university, Sherry moved abroad to Germany where she met her husband of 28 years. They returned state side, married and had two daughters, Adrienne Ursula and Kirsten Logan in Iowa. In 1986 the family moved to Cypress, Texas where they raised their children. Sherry's vocation was teaching. She taught German and English at Langham Creek High School for nearly three decades. The school where she taught was like a second home. Her students became adopted children and the faculty members became life long friends who have cared for and given great support to her and her children.

In retirement, Sherry enjoyed her time at the YMCA, Cypress United Methodist Church and being adored in the role of grandparent. She and her gal pals enjoyed trips to New Mexico, South Carolina and other places. She also weathered many hurricanes in good style by always being well prepared. Sadly, Sherry's list of things she wanted to do once retired was unable to be completed as her passing was too soon.

Sherry was dearly loved and is survived by her sisters and their beautiful families; Carolyn Napier, Sandy Schnirring and Cindy Malcolm. Her daughters also carry on her legacy; Adrienne and Charlie West of Cloudcroft, New Mexico and Kirsten and Sachin George of Cypress, Texas; and her grandchildren, Arthur and Bodhi West of Cloudcroft, N.M. and Logan Amida George of Cypress, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents Dick and Myrt Logan.
