Christine Smith, age 63 of Lake City, IA, passed away on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at the UnityPoint Health Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, IA.   Christine Annette was born on October 10, 1960, to parents Robert and Janet (Fahan) Smith in Columbus, Georgia.  She grew up in Lake City where she graduated from High School.  She furthered her education on the DMACC campus in Ankeny, IA achieving her AA degree in Preschool Education.

Christine worked hard to provide for her son Cameron. She worked as a daycare provider, preschool teacher, and CNA at Stewart Memorial Hospital, and then later as a housekeeper at Stewart Memorial Hospital. In her free time, Christine loved taking her dog for a walk trying new recipes, spending time with her grandchildren, and following Jane Goodall's work with primates, especially the Chimpanzee.  Most of all she loved being a caregiver as it brought her great joy.

Those left to cherish her memory include her Son: Cameron (Mary) Germer of Manning, IA; Grandchildren: Bailee, Ryan, Maison, Hannah, and Kaylee Germer of Manning, IA; Father: Robert Smith of Carroll, IA; Siblings: Cheri (Clint) Rehtmeyer of Kilkenny, MN, Richard Smith of Carroll, IA, and Donald (Leah) Smith of Lake City, IA; several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Christine was preceded in death by her Mother: Janet Mastin and Stepfather: Doc Mastin.
