Connie J. Sievert - age 78, of Ankeny, formerly of Pocahontas, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, at her home in Ankeny, Iowa.

Connie Jean Latta was born on March 29, 1942 in Storm Lake, Iowa. She was the daughter of Ralph and Geraldine (Meyer) Latta. Connie was educated in Newell Schools, High View Country School and went on to attend Storm Lake High School. On April 9, 1959, Connie was united in marriage to Bill Sievert at the Church of Christ in Storm Lake. The couple made their home in Pocahontas where Connie worked for the Cozy Café in Pocahontas as a waitress. In 1967, she began working as a daycare provider and made cakes for several years. She worked as a waitress at the Ideal Café for several years. Connie then worked as a hostess at the Chateau for many years. In the late 1980's she began working as a checker at Wood's Super Market, retiring in 2012. Bill passed away in July of 2016, after which Connie moved to Ankeny to live with her daughter, Charity.

Connie was a member of the Hope United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She served as a Girl Scout and Cub Scout Troop Leader and Bible School teacher. Connie enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, traveling and playing Scrabble. She also enjoyed bowling for many years in the couple's league with Bill, and then the ladies league. Connie continued babysitting until her time of passing.

Connie is survived by her children, Marvin Sievert of Pocahontas; Cindy (Randy) Kalar of Jacksonville, FL; Crystal Vernon of Des Moines and Charity Wenham of Ankeny; grandchildren, Jason Slattery, Candace (Kelsey) Harvey, Michael Johnson, Brandon (Jessica) Johnson, Chandra (Eric) Armstrong, John (Casie) Sievert, Joe (Tessa) Sievert, Nathaniel (Emile) Vernon, Nicholas (Harmony) Vernon, Jacob Kalar, Caylie (Jessica) Wenham, Chloe Wenham, Jordan Wenham and Dean Mowry; 24 great-grandchildren; sisters; Cheryl (Steve) Sheets of Marathon and Carol (Gary) Buelt of Fort Dodge; brother, Ed Latta of Denison and her grandpuppies; Jackie, Theadorey and Lucy. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bill and angel baby, Ky'rie.

Family was very important to Connie, and she has left unforgettable memories with all of them.
