Craig Steven Christiansen passed away on November 13, 2020 at Firesteel Healthcare Center in Mitchell, SD. Graveside services will be held at Summit Hill Cemetery in Pocahontas on Friday, May 28, at 3:00 pm.

Craig was born on August 7, 1950 in Laurens and raised on the family farm south of Mallard. He graduated from Havelock-Plover high school in 1968 and joined the U.S. Army. Craig trained at Fort Bragg, went on to earn his wings in Turkey and became an Army Ranger. Craig was an outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He had a knack for building and tinkering with whatever materials were laying around. For the last twenty-five years he was married to Jackie Semmler and lived in Mitchell, SD. Craig entered long term care in 2012 where he remained until his passing.

Survivors include his wife Jackie, daughter Callie (David) Thomas of New Providence, NJ, son Matthew Christiansen of Lehigh Acres, FL and five grandchildren (Rylee, Matthew, Jack, Owen and Lila). Stepchildren Clark Martinek (Charola) and Darron Semmler and two step grandchildren (Drex and Max). Craig was the oldest of his siblings, he is survived by Karen (Bob) Martin of Fort Dodge, IA, Judy (Al) Lemke of Manchester, IA, Dean Christiansen of Plover, IA and Shirley (Dave) Ezarski of Emmetsburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, M. Jean and Anna Christiansen of Pocahontas Iowa, infant sister Diane, grandparents and several aunts and uncles.
