Curtis Todd Sindergard was born on August 15,1959 to Jack and Pearl (Nelson) Sindergard in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Curt started farming at age 17 before even graduating. After graduating from Rolfe High School in 1977, he continued to farm with his father until Jack retired. Curt was a farmer for the rest of his life raising soybeans and corn. On November 21, 1981, Curt married DeAnn Cooper, and they have lived in Rolfe their entire married life.

Curt was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and served the church on various committees and held several offices. Curt and De were seed dealers for Dekalb and Latham Seeds for twenty-eight years. Curt was on the Rolfe City Council and Economic Commission. He was a board member of the Federal Crop Insurance Corp., Qualisoy Board, Iowa Grain Quality Initiative, Iowa Grain Indemnity Fund, and USA Poultry and Egg Export Council. Curt was a PRO Cooperative Board Member. He also served on the Pocahontas County Economic Development Commission, serving as its chairman for several years until March of 2023.

Curt was most proud of the work he did with the Iowa Soybean Association and the American Soybean Association. He served on the ISA board for eighteen years, serving on various committees and was president of ISA two different times. He traveled internationally with ISA to promote Iowa soybeans. He was on the ASA board for nine years, served on several committees, and met the best group of soybean friends from around the country. He was very passionate about spreading the word about how Iowa agriculture was helping to feed the world!

In 2013, Curt, De, and nephew Mark started Sindergard Excavating. He loved working alongside Mark in the business, learning new things, and providing a valuable service to others in the area.

On Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the age of 63, Curt passed away at the Paula J. Baber Hospice House in Fort Dodge, Iowa with De by his side. He had endured a seventeen-year battle with kidney cancer.

Many will remember Curt's passion for the game of golf, drinking a good bourbon, and smoking a fine cigar. He believed it was every individual's responsibility to volunteer, to be a part of your community, and to work hard to keep things progressing. Curt knew someone everywhere he went. He was a great listener, respected others, enjoyed life, and valued time with family and friends.

Curt is survived by his wife De, his sister Joyce (Pat) Ennis of Clarion, sister-in-law Annette (David) Werner of Fort Dodge, and sister-in-law Cheryl Sindergard of Plover. His nephews Mark (Jeanne) Sindergard of Plover and Daniel (Britt) Meythaler of Jefferson were very special to him along with nephews Kenny (Donna) Sindergard, Kevin Sindergard, Todd (Angie) Sindergard and nieces Angela (Bill) Hansen, Tammy (Matt) Hagerty, Kelly Spencer, Kim (Tim) Kerr, Tracey Henderson, and Kris (Doug) Watne. Great nephews Cooper and Grayson Meythaler and great, great nephews Paxton and Hoyt Cundiff brought him much pleasure and happiness.

Curt was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Kenny, Darwin, and Darrel; sisters-in-law Sharon Sindergard and Judy Lubinus; and in-laws Wilbur and Janet Cooper.
