Cynthia Mills, age 70 of Lake City, IA, passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Accura Healthcare of Lake City.  Cynthia Suzanne was born on June 13, 1953, to parents George and Madeline (Rankin) Mills, in Cleveland, OH.

Cynthia lived in Albuquerque, NM for a while and this is where her son Josh was born.  She later moved to Las Vegas, NV, where her second son, Jason was born, and miscarried a daughter.  She raised her family in Las Vegas where she worked as a bartender and cook for seventeen years at the Smuggle Inn.  Cynthia was very hardworking and worked three jobs to provide for her boys.  Cynthia loved her time spent in Albuquerque, NM, and enjoyed watching soap operas.  She cherished the time spent with her family and grandchildren and was very proud to be a grandma.  Cynthia was a member of the Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Lake City for several years.  Her stubborn personality, kind heart, and sweet gestures will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved her.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son Jason (Stacie) Martinez of Sac City, IA; granddaughter Scarlet Martinez; siblings Mikki Mills of Ohio and Jack Mills of South Carolina.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents and son Josh Martinez.
