Dale P. Harrold – age 95, of Omaha, NE, formerly of Pocahontas, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at the Brighton Gardens of Omaha in Omaha, NE.

Dale Patrick Harrold was born on July 21, 1924, in Pocahontas, Iowa, to Patrick and Kathryn (Forey) Harrold and was the second youngest of 9 children.

Dale started his military career in 1942 at the age of 18 and served on the USS Pasadena, Warwick, Menard, Talladega, Cortland during WWII. In 1947, he married his first wife, Margaret (Grady). The two went on to raise 6 children Stephen, Dave, Kathy, Denise, Theresa and Betty.

Always quick witted and clever, Dale was a driven and hard working man who mastered many trades through his working career and through his hobbies. While in the Navy, Dale was a Corpsman and Dental Prosthetist. Dale retired in 1962 as a Chief Dental Tech. The end of Dale's military career brought the family back home to Pocahontas. Dale went on to study Packaging Systems and had a second career working for Cryovac in Denver, CO and Omaha, NE. In his free time, Dale was busy with his hobbies including automotive restoration, wood working, beating people at bridge and pinochle, and spending time traveling to see his extensive network of children and grandchildren.

Along the way, Dale met and married his second wife, Evelyn (Adams). The two of them made a wonderful team with her sons Randy, Rex, Roger, Rod and Gayle. They shared hobbies, adventures, and a love of their expanded family.

Dale spent the last 17 years with his companion and close friend Lila Schueth.

Dale is survived by his children, Stephen (Nancy) Harrold of Broomfield, CO, Dave Harrold of North Platte, NE, Denise (Mike) Lambert of Leesburg, FL, Theresa (Steve) McKee of Omaha, NE, and Betty (Jeff) Downes of Aurora, CO, 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by his wives, Margaret and Evelyn, daughter, Kathy Miller, grandson, Benjamin Miller, his parents, and eight siblings.
