Daniel H. Meister – age 63, of Marathon, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 28, 2021, at his home in Marathon, Iowa.

Daniel Harold Meister was born on June 20, 1957, in Laurens, Iowa. He was the son of the late Harold and Dorothy (Grund) Meister. Dan graduated from Marathon High School in 1975. Dan worked as a commercial welder in Laurens, production worker for Bilmar Foods in Storm Lake, and was valued saw operator and machinist with Fisher Hydraulics in Laurens.

Daniel and Cynthia Hollesen were married in 1985 and had two children together Daniel and Diana.

Dan was a devoted father, dedicated son, and brother to his family. Dan provided in home care to his late partner Angie Wheeler, his mother Dorothy, and his brother Leroy. He was a self-less and devoted person who would provide time and assistance to his family, including driving members to doctor appointments. He was an avid record collector, who enjoyed neighborhood garage sales in the summers, collecting unique period coins, glassware, and riding his motorcycle.

Survivors include his children, Daniel Meister of Spencer, IA and Diana (Josh) Nosekabel of Tea, SD; Cindi Hollesen and Danielle Krause of Sioux Rapids; his grandchildren, Demetri Meister, Brynley Nosekabel, Ava Meister, Emma Meister, Lili Nosekabel, Sereniti and Alvin Krause; his brothers, Leroy Meister of Marathon, IA, Steve Meister of Waterloo and Frank Meister of Chicago, IL and sister, Angie McKenna of Storm Lake, IA.
