Danny L. Arends – age 65, of Pocahontas, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Danny Lee Arends was born on July 24, 1956, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was the son of LeRoy and LaVonne (Reinders) Arends. Danny graduated from Pocahontas High School. He went on to attend Waldorf College in Forest City. In Forest City, Danny worked for Winnebego Industries. He then moved to Fonda where he worked as a city electrician for several years. He moved to Texas for a short time. He returned to Pocahontas and worked as a Machinist for Iowa Hydraulics for many years and then for Armstrong Machine. Due to health reasons, he retired in 2020.

Danny was a member of Pheasants Forever. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting. In his younger years he enjoyed riding dirt bikes, water skiing and snowmobiling. He maintained the family farm for many years after his parents retired. Danny was a loving man that created quality relationships with each person he knew. He was always there to lend a hand, ear or bear hug to a friend or family member in need. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Survivors include his siblings, RoxAne (Jeff) Cundiff of Nampa, ID, Wendy O'Neall of Palmer and Mike Arends of Pocahontas; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoy and LaVonne.
