Darlene A. Passow - age 83, of Pomeroy, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, at the Accura Healthcare of Pomeroy, Iowa.

Darlene Ann Ellis was born on February 13, 1941, in Jolley, Iowa.  She was the daughter of Donald "D.K." and Elma "Toots" (Chapman) Ellis. She graduated from Jolley High School in 1959. On August 6, 1961, Darlene was united in marriage to Charles "Chuck" Passow at the United Methodist Church in Jolley, Iowa. The couple settled on a farm north of Pomeroy where they farmed and raised their family. In 1995, they moved to the family home place north of Pomeroy.   Darlene worked as an operator for many years for the General Telephone Company. First in Rockwell City then Tama then Emmetsburg before returning to the Rockwell City office. She retired in 1993 with over 40 years of service. Chuck passed away in 2022, and Darlene continued to make her home near Pomeroy.

Darlene was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Ladies Circle. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and traveling with Chuck and her parents. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren, she loved giving them golf cart rides around the farm.

Survivors include her son, Randy (Missy Becker) Passow of Pomeroy; grandchildren, Rachel Passow of Ames and Randon Passow of Pomeroy; sister, Shirley Goodwin of Tucson, AZ and brother, David (Dianne) Ellis of Prole, Iowa.

Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles and a brother, Dean Ellis.
