Darren A. Stearns, age 51, formerly of Havelock, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2026 in Schleswig, Iowa.

Darren Alan Stearns was born April 23, 1974, to Duane and Paulette (Peterson) Stearns in Pocahontas, Iowa. He grew up in Havelock and was educated in Pocahontas schools, graduating from Pocahontas High School in 1992. Darren worked in the area as a farm hand, in the trucking business and as a fertilizer applicator.

Darren was a member of the Iowa Trappers Association. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing and trapping. He was an avid race car fan and went to races every opportunity he could. Darren loved the time he spent with his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory include Brenda Prussing and sons, Avery and Ayden; son, Tony (Alyssa); daughters, Shelby and Morgan; father, Duane; sister, Shawn (Joel); grandson, Kolt; granddaughters, Brynnlee, Emilia and Halsey; nephew, Tyler (Sophia); niece, Hailey (Chance); several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Darren was preceded in death by his mother, Paulette Stearns.
