David Brown age 70 of Lake City, IA, passed away on June 29, 2024, at his home in Lake City.   David John Brown was the second child born on March 26, 1954, to parents Burton and Maxine (Thomas) Brown.  He had two sisters, Rebecca and Mary.  In 1990, David moved to Opportunity Living and made a lasting impression.

David loved his family at Opportunity Living, especially his house E and F clients and staff.  He had the softest hair, sweetest smile, giggle, and made the cutest noises that always brought a smile to your face.  David loved his morning whirlpool baths, riding the golf cart and bus rides, walks, the swimming pool, and musical toys.  He had a Christmas radio and accordion that he held to his ear and loved to listen to.

David had a love for cookies and candy, he could never have enough.  Dum Dum pops, ice cream, Oreos, and M&M's were his favorite snacks.  He loved to sit in his recliner in his home and it never failed that he would hear you open a bag of candy in the kitchen, he'd come running out and in sign language say, "David wants more cookies and candy!"   David used to also sneak into the kitchen and eat the chocolate Nesquick but always left a trail because he'd end up pouring it all over himself.  We all know he's in heaven eating all the sweets he could ever ask for!

David was an absolute blessing to our Opportunity Living family.  We will never forget the joy and love that he brought into our lives.  You will be greatly missed.
