David A. Plantz, age 56, of Rolfe, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Humboldt County Memorial Hospital in Humboldt, Iowa.

David Allan Plantz was born July 17, 1967, in Sioux City, Iowa. He was the son of Ronald and Donna (Origer) Plantz. Dave graduated from the Havelock-Plover High School in 1986. He then completed his associates degree in Feed and Fertilizer from Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg. Dave was united in marriage to Lynn Oberreuter in Danbury, Iowa on August 18, 1990. Dave and Lynn settled in the Rolfe area where Dave worked for Farm Service Coop in their fertilizer division. He farmed with Wagner Farms for a short time, then eventually full-time with his father. He was currently working at Wessels Oil, which he had for the past 20 years.

Dave was a member of Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church in Pocahontas, and the Knights of Columbus in Danbury. He enjoyed golfing at the Rolfe Golf Course, where he served on the board. He also enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, side-by-side rides, riding his Harley Davidson and spending time at the cabin in Minnesota. He loved spending time with his family, and he especially loved time spent with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Lynn of Rolfe; sons, Jonathon Plantz of Humboldt and Andrey Plantz of Palmer; 4 grandchildren, Brooklyn, Maddelyn, Joseph and Ashlyn; mother, Donna Plantz of Rolfe; sisters, Deb Olson of Osceola, WI and Sherri (Bob) Wagner of Rolfe.

Dave was preceded in death by his father, Ron; brother, Dean; son, Nicholas, and granddaughter, Faithlyn.
