David A. Sennert – age 69, of Pocahontas, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at his home in Pocahontas, Iowa.

David Alan Sennert was born May 5, 1953, at Buena Vista Hospital in Storm Lake, Iowa. He was the son of Richard and Marilene (Jesse) Sennert. David was baptized on June 21, 1953, in the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod and was confirmed in the same church on May 28, 1967. He graduated from Sioux Valley High School in 1972. He continued his education at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, where he completed their 2-year banking program. On September 8, 1990, David was united in marriage to Rita R. Hoefing at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Estherville, Iowa. The couple lived in the Linn Grove area where he farmed until 1993. They then settled in Pocahontas where he did various jobs in the area.

David was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. He enjoyed talking to people, looking at cars in car lots and watching movies. He made it a priority to send birthday cards to family members and enjoyed keeping in touch with his nieces & nephews. As a friend of Bill W., David touched many lives.

Survivors include his wife, Rita, of Pocahontas; brothers, Randal (Donna) Sennert of Storm Lake and Ronald (Barbara) Sennert of Linn Grove; brother-in-law, Paul (Sharon) Hoefing of Gatesville, TX; sister-in-law, Pam (Gary) Arbaugh of Underwood and brother-in-law, Jim (Karla) Hoefing of Fort Dodge and many nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be left to the discretion of the family.
