Del L. Reeves, age 79, of Pocahontas, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Delond Lee Reeves was born on March 31, 1946, in Emmetsburg, Iowa. He was the son of Earl and Carolyn (Conklin) Reeves. He graduated from Rolfe High School in 1964. Del enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served from 1965-1969 and was stationed in Bossier City, LA and Marquette, MI. On November 10, 1965, Del was united in marriage to Rita Lange at Gwinn, MI. The couple lived in Michigan and Louisiana while Del was serving in the U.S. Air Force. Following his discharge, Del worked for Kentucky Fried Chicken and was responsible for setting up KFC restaurants in Kansas, Missouri and Atlantic. In 1971, the couple moved to Pocahontas where they settled. Del worked as a machinist for over 30 years at Iowa Industrial Hydraulics until they closed in 2002. In 2003, he began working at Brand FX until he retired in 2009. Rita passed away in 2010 and Del continued to make his home in Pocahontas.

Del was an avid Minnesota Vikings, Iowa Hawkeye and Atlanta Braves fan. He especially loved traveling with Rita over the years.

Survivors include his son, Scott (Mary) Reeves of Pocahontas; five grandchildren, Scott Jr., (Danielle) Reeves, Christopher (Megan) Reeves, Jennifer (Justin) Walker, Holly (Isaiah) Harrington and Brian Reeves; great-grandchildren, Harper, Kennedy, Emersyn, Brielle, Jack, Lily, Rosalee, Ruby, Mary, Oliver, Gus, Scarlette, Tucker, Charlie, Violette and Rory.
