Denny G. Hudek – age 74, of Pocahontas, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at his home in Pocahontas, Iowa after a courageous battle with cancer.

Dennis Gene Hudek was born December 7, 1945, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was the son of Verle and Sadona "Sadie" (Hronek) Hudek. He graduated from Pocahontas Catholic School in 1964 and attended Eagle Grove Community College. He entered the U.S. Army in August of 1966 and served in Korea. Denny was united in marriage to Susan Bennett on December 31, 1966, in Pocahontas. He began working as a lineman for the Pocahontas REC in 1968. He retired in January of 2008 after over 40 years of service.

Denny was a member of the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, American Legion and the Pocahontas Golf Club. Denny enjoyed being outside, following sports, especially anything involving the Iowa Hawkeyes, golfing and taking fishing trips to Canada. Denny loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and especially his "Little Buddy" Blake.

Denny is survived by his wife, Sue; children, Angie Hudek of Brooklyn Park, MN, Stacy Wirtz of West Des Moines and Scott (Kipper) Hudek of Playa Del Rey, CA; eight grandchildren, Jessica, Bethany, Harold, Hayley, Praful, Brianna, Ryan and Grey; three great-grandchildren, Blake, Hunter and Peyton; brothers, Richard (Bella) Hudek of Seattle, WA, and Tom "Skinner" Hudek of Spencer; sisters, Sue (Larry) DeBuse of Bella Vista, AR, Connie (Dennis) Habben of Pocahontas and Deb (Larry) Bevins of Pocahontas.

Denny was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bob Hudek and great-grandson, Robert.
