Di Hawley, age 74, of Laurens, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2024, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Marsha Gail Diane Hayes was born April 26, 1949, in Santa Maria, CA. She was the daughter of Bobby Joe and Dorothy Diane (Tyler) Hayes. Di was raised by her grandmother and graduated in 1967 from Ernest Righetti High School in Santa Maria. Di held various jobs after high school, including secretarial and office work. In 1982, she entered a 9-month criminal law program at Delta Junior College. She became a police officer and worked in Angels Camp, CA. In 1987, she developed and operated an electrical wholesale business in Angels Camp until 2008. On August 10, 2008, Di was united in marriage to John Hawley in Colorado Springs, CO. The couple moved to Laurens where they settled. Di worked at Walmart in Spencer doing demo cooking for 3 years, then at Laurens Food Pride in the deli department as a cook. She retired in 2016.

Di was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. She enjoyed golfing with John in her free time.She loved being of service to others.

Survivors include her husband, John, of Laurens; daughter, Kristy (Adam) Kessinger of Cody, WY; her sisters, Christine (Jerry) Ouzts of South Carolina, Barbara Pogue of Missouri, Susan (Tim) Clarke of California, and brothers, David Jr. (Angie) Pinkerton and Billy Nabors of Missouri, Mark Nabors of Oklahoma, Anthony Nabors of South Carolina.

Di was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Homer and Ocie Tyler; two infant twins, an infant sister and a childhood sister. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
