Dorothy Laura (Wittrock) Berger passed away on December 9, 2024.  She was the daughter of Charles and Frances (Roth) Wittrock born on March 25, 1928, in Hartington, Nebraska.  She lived her life to the age of 96 years 8 months and 15 days.  Dorothy received her education at Holy Angels School in Roselle, Iowa.  After graduation from Holy Angels, she helped her mother at home.  Later she did housework and helped with newborn babies for various people.

On April 19, 1949, Dorothy was united in marriage to Alvin Frank Berger at Holy Angels Church in Roselle.  To this union were born 8 sons and 9 daughters.  Dorothy taught CCD classes at St. Joseph's Church, Lohrville.  Dorothy was a member of Our Lady of the Plains Parish - St. Mary's Church, Lake City, Iowa; a member of the WinGS women's group and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.

Survivors include her children: Gary, Roger, Gerald, Allen, Joan (Dave) Nepple, Joyce, Lois (Jim) Last, Mary (Vern) Bauer, John (Debbie), Carol (Rob) Lee, LuAnn Berger (Randy Stonebraker), Joseph (Shelia), Kathleen (Dave) Cady, Donna (Jim) Brown, Michael (Julie), Therese Berning (Brad Hansen) and George (Abby).  Sister: Velma Tigges, Brother: Merlin Wittrock, and Sisters-in-law: Catherine Wittrock, and LaVonne Berger, 44 grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, 21 step-great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and 3 step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Parents: Charles and Frances (Roth) Wittrock; Husband: Alvin Berger; granddaughters: Michaela Lee and Megan Vance; son-in-law Louie Berning; daughter-in-law: Catherine Berger; Brothers: Alfred (Arlene), Charles, Clarence, Jerry (Berniece) and Ronald (Jeanette) Wittrock, and her Sister: Marjorie (Ed) Steinkamp.
