Edward "Sonny" Weiland - age 92, of Rolfe, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2019, at the Pocahontas Manor in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Edward Henry Weiland was born on August 7, 1927, in Rolfe, Iowa. He was the son of Edward D. G. and Clara (Beyers) Weiland. Ed graduated from the Rolfe High School in 1945. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1950 – 1952. Following his discharge, he returned to Rolfe. On December 26, 1954, Ed was united in marriage to Viola Gunnarson on her parents farm near Marathon. The couple settled in Rolfe where Sonny operated a heavy equipment business for many years. He retired in the mid-1980's.

Sonny was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, the American Legion and V.F.W.

Survivors include his wife, Viola Weiland of Pocahontas. He was preceded in death by his parents.
