Eileen M. Davis, age 97, of Pocahontas, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the Laurens Care Center in Laurens, Iowa.

Eileen Myrtle Wilbur was born January 19, 1927, in Laurens, Iowa to parents John and Grace (McKiernan) Wilbur. She attended Laurens schools before moving to Pocahontas her senior year of high school, graduating in 1944. After graduation, Eileen took employment with the War Department and worked as a cryptographics clerk in Arlington, Virginia in a war time role that demanded complete confidentiality. On January 29, 1947, Eileen was united in marriage to James Davis in Jackson, Minnesota. The couple settled on a farm near Havelock where they farmed and raised their family. Jim passed away in 1975. In the fall of 1976, Eileen moved to Pocahontas, where she worked at Ricklefs Draperies and at Brown's Market. In 2021, she moved to the Laurens Care Center in Laurens.

Eileen was a hospice volunteer and a member of the Genealogy Club. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, working crossword puzzles and feeding birds.

Survivors include her son, Sid (Rose) Davis of Havelock; daughter, Becky (Larry) Stephens of Urbandale; grandchildren, Scott (Missy) Davis, Brian (Jill) Davis, Christi (Ron) Hines and Rob (Nicki) Bunda; 7 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Glenn Peter of Quincy, IL, and many nieces and nephews.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim; daughters, Sandra Peter and Jackie Bunda; sisters, Audrey (George) Dahnke and Patricia (Robert) Cejka; brother, Alva (Vivian) Wilbur, and son-in-law, Bob Bunda.
