Eileen Triggs Fulton – age 92, of Laurens was called home on Sunday, June 25, 2023.

Eileen Marie Hersom was born on April 1, 1931, in Laurens, Iowa. She was the daughter of C.I. and Vivian (Swanson) Hersom. She was a graduate of Laurens High School and attended AIB in Des Moines. On April 2, 1950, Eileen was united in marriage to Vince Triggs.  After graduating from AIB she took a job with M & Jr Hakes where she was a bookkeeper until starting her family. After her youngest entered Kindergarten, she went to work with Vince at Laurens Electric & Building Supply. They had 71 years together and raised four children. Eileen was dedicated to her children in all aspects of their lives, always supportive and encouraging, often sacrificing her needs for the good of her family. She was so proud of each and every one of her kids, grand kids and great-grandkids.

Eileen was very involved with her community. She was a Girl Scout leader for a number of years and adult advisor of the Rainbow Girls. She and Vince were members of the First Christian Church and were instrumental with the CYF youth. Eileen was also a member of CWF, Legion Auxilliary, VFW Auxilliary, and a 50+ year member of the Eastern Star. She loved cooking and baking, meeting new people (never met a stranger), gardening and having coffee with friends. She was someone who always had a smile, even in trying times. Her door was always open, there was always room at her table and she touched the lives of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, C.I. & Vivian Hersom; in-laws Johnny & Lucille Triggs; husband, Vince Triggs; brother, Arnie Hersom; sister-in-law Charmaine Hersom; brother & sister-in-law Joe and Eileen O'Brien. She is survived by her husband, Ron Fulton of Urbandale, IA; four children, Mike Triggs (Rick Wade) of West Des Moines, IA; Jane (Tom) Hillock of Prescott, AZ; Scott (Michelle) Triggs of Mt. Vernon, IA and Peggy Triggs of Urbandale, IA; Ron's children, Mike Fulton of Urbandale, IA and Karen Fulton of Clive, IA; four grandchildren, Christina Corieri of Scottsdale, AZ; Angie (Vinny) Cicilini of Chandler, AZ; Stephanie (Alan) Flies of Plymouth, MN and Eric (Amy) Triggs of Marion, IA.; plus six great-granddaughters and one great-grandson; her brother Ron (Jan) Hersom of Laurens, IA; sister and brother-in-law Vi & Vern Metzger of Palmer, IA; sister-in-law Angie Nehring, and several nieces and nephews.
