Eileen B. Stoulil, age 89, of Pocahontas, passed away on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at her home in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Eileen Bernice Stoulil was the second born of twins to Lars and Elsie Mehl in 1934. She completed her secondary education in a one-room country school and graduated from Pocahontas High School. Growing up she was active in church activities, 4-H clubs, sports and music activities.

She excelled in her 4-H participation, earning local, state and national awards. Her specialties were cooking and especially sewing. She was elected as the Iowa State Girls 4-H vice-president in 1953. In 1954, Eileen participated in the Iowa State Fair Style Show; won the State and National clothing record awards; and had one of her most memorable life experiences attending the National 4-H Club Congress in Chicago. Eileen also was a volunteer 4-H leader for nearly 50 years, influencing generations of young girls. Due to her participation and service, Eileen was recently notified that she is to be inducted into the Iowa 4-H Hall of Fame at the 2024 Iowa State Fair.

She married another twin, Dean Stoulil, and over the course of their marriage, they jointly owned and operated successful business ventures, including Dean's Oil Company in Pocahontas and Glenn Tractor Company (John Deere dealership) in Willows, Ca. She was active in the Young Ladies Institute in Willows, Ca., community and church choirs, Lucky Ladies, and the Ladies Legion Auxiliary. Eileen particularly enjoyed watching her offspring compete in sports and music, traveling, stained glass, fine dining, trying new recipes and spending time with her family. She took joy in sharing her life experiences, was always a good source for advice and enjoyed a good laugh.

Eileen is survived by three daughters: Lori (Conrad) Coniconde of Ankeny, Shari (Andy) Frerk of Havelock, and Jan Stoulil of Mesa, Az.; 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; sisters Irene Leonard and Alice Levene; and a host of close nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Dean; and her parents, Lars and Elsie Mehl.
