Eloise C. Enger

Eloise Carolyn Enger, age 84, of Laurens, IA, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at the St. Luke Home in Spencer, IA.

Funeral Service is 10:30 AM, Friday, November 6, 2026, at the United Methodist Church in Laurens, Iowa, with Pastor Jim Davis officiating. Burial will take place in the Laurens Cemetery near Laurens. Visitation is from 9:45 – 10:15 AM, Friday, at the church in Laurens before the service time. Powers Funeral Home of Laurens, Iowa is handling the arrangements.

She was born on February 6, 1942 in Emmetsburg, Iowa to Raymond and Lola (Joines) Mileham. Eloise was united in marriage to Randy Enger on July 15, 1961 at the United Methodist Church in Laurens, IA. The couple settled in Laurens where they raised their family. Eloise worked as the city clerk for the City of Laurens for 30 years, a job she greatly enjoyed. Randy passed away in 1994 and Eloise continued to make her home in Laurens, retiring in 2004. In 2022, she moved to Highlands Retirement Living in Spencer.

Eloise was a member of the Laurens United Methodist Church. Outside of work, she enjoyed reading, gardening, shopping, watching sports, going on motorcycle trips with Randy and volunteering at church. She especially loved spending time with her grandkids, Ben and Brooke.

Eloise is survived by her daughters Carolyn Enger, Sioux Falls, SD, Colleen (Nate) Helland, Sioux Falls, SD and her grandchildren Ben Helland and Brooke Helland, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Randy Enger, parents Ray and Lola Mileham, siblings Roger Mileham, Dean Mileham, Shirley Morris and Ronnie Mileham.
