Elva M. Barnett, age 83, of Pocahontas, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at St. Luke's Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa.

Elva Mae Morgan was born October 21, 1941, on a farm near Decatur, Nebraska. She was the daughter of Jack and Eva (Newill) Morgan. Elva graduated from Decatur High School in 1961. On October 25, 1962, Elva was united in marriage to Keith Barnett in Gene, Nevada. The couple lived in California and Nebraska where Elva worked at a daycare and as a waitress. They later moved to Fort Dodge, then in 1977, they moved to Havelock and in 1986, they moved to Mallard. Elva worked at the Pocahontas Manor and Emmetsburg Care Center as a CNA. Keith passed away in 1993 and Elva continued to live in Mallard until 1994, when she moved to Pocahontas. She retired from the Pocahontas Manor in 2004 and continued to make her home in Pocahontas.

Survivors include her children, Mary (John Sr.) Mammen of Mallard, Kelly (David) Otto of Rolfe, Donna Ricklefs of Pocahontas, Ronda (Jim) Gannaway of Marathon, Shary Ollinger (Jeff) of Pocahontas, Carla (Keith) Stauffer of Gilmore City, Keith Jr. (Lisa) Barnett of Iowa Falls, Charles II (Melissa) Barnett of Omaha, NE, Jesse (Kellee) Barnett of Alta and Valerie (Robert) Stuhrenberg of Pocahontas; 26 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren (with one on the way); 3 great-great grandchildren, and a brother, Jarry (Jean) Morgan of Omaha, NE.

Elva was preceded in death by her husband, Keith; parents, Jack and Eva Morgan; grandson, Brian Henderson; son-in-law, Gerald Ricklefs, and siblings, Dorthy, James, Iva, Verna, Ralph, Max, Rex, Jackie and Clara Jean.
