Floyd D. Peterson, age 88, of Rolfe, passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at the Algona Manor Care Center in Algona, Iowa.

Floyd Dean Peterson was born on September 23, 1935, in Rolfe, Iowa. He was the son of Robert and Cora (DeMoss) Peterson. Floyd was educated in Rolfe Schools. Following his education, he farmed in the Rolfe area. In the early 1950s, he moved to  California, where he worked in Trailer Manufacturing. In 1963, Floyd was united in marriage to Norma Owens in California. The couple lived in Glendale and Hacienda, California. In 1973, they moved to an acreage near Fort Dodge and Floyd worked for Anderson Trucking. They then moved to Arkansas where they lived for 14 years and Floyd worked for Sacrete Cement Company. In the mid 1990's, Floyd and Norma returned to Rolfe. Norma passed away in November of 2022.

Floyd enjoyed welding, tinkering in the garage, helping Gary Larson with lawn mowers, cruising around and getting ice cream for his dog.

Survivors include his daughter, Terry Williams of Rolfe; grandchildren, Jamie Upton of Sioux Falls, SD, Antony Cartee of Emmetsburg, Philip Cartee of Belmond, NormaGene Hogan of Sioux City, William Williams of LuVerne and Krishna Williams of Rolfe and 15 great-grandchildren.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Norma; 3 brothers, Dan, Ray and Norman and a sister, Betty.
