Frances K. Lewis - age 88, of Pocahontas, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021, at the Pocahontas Manor Care Center in Pocahontas, Iowa.

Frances Katherine Coakley was born on August 12, 1932, in Nemaha, Iowa.  She was the daughter of Charles and Cordelia (DeMars) Coakley. Fran graduated from Nemaha High School in 1950. She worked at the family restaurant in Palmer. On April 7, 1953, Fran was united in marriage to Harold Lewis in Palmer, Iowa.  The couple lived on a farm near Pocahontas until 1962, when they settled on the family farm near Pomeroy. In the mid-1970's, Fran began working as a cook and did laundry work at the Pomeroy Care Center for many years. Harold passed away in 2006. Fran continued to live on the farm until 2008 when she moved to Pocahontas.

Fran was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a member of the 3M Club and the Red Hat Ladies Club. She enjoyed reading and loved her cat, Chloe. She was an avid ISU basketball fan. Fran especially loved following her kids and grandkids activities over the years.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Mrs Steve (Joyce) Lewis of Pomeroy; children, Cyndi (Gary) Klaassen of Pocahontas, Pam (Ted) Carroll of Coppell, TX, Jeff (Patty) Lewis of Manson, David (LuCinda) Lewis of Greeley, CO and Lisa (Joe) Florentino of Little Elm, TX; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Fran was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; son, Steve and sisters, Margaret Sterner and Mary Smith.
