Gale R. Pierce, age 67, of Omaha, formerly of Palmer, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024, at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Private Family Services will be held.

Gale Renae Peters was born on February 8, 1957, in Fort Dodge Iowa. She was the daughter of Eldon and Ruth (Bruner) Peters. In high school, Gale participated in basketball and played the saxophone in the band. She graduated from Palmer High School in 1975. She met Mike "Mick" Pierce in 1973, on a band bus with her cousin, Jolene. On August 23, 1975, Gale was united in marriage to Mike at St. John's Lutheran Church, Lizard Twp. near Palmer, Iowa, where Gale was also baptized and confirmed. Mike and Gale enjoyed attending many concerts together. Gale worked at Iowa Central Community College for two years. She then worked at the college in Ankeny, then at an insurance company in Mason City. On December 8, 1981, they welcomed twins, Mark and Jane. They settled in Omaha in 1987. Gale was a stay-at-home mom raising Mark and Jane. She enjoyed watching them grow up. She attended all their school and sports activities, and Mark and Jane were the center of her life.

She loved spending time with her family, going to church, watching church services online, reading and playing cards and games with her kids and grandkids. She had a cat named Jack who she adored, and he kept her company when Mike was at work. Gale had a very strong faith, loved the Lord with all her heart and talked often about Heaven and how wonderful it would be someday.

Survivors include the love of her life, her husband Mike; son, Mark (Sybille) Pierce; daughter, Jane (Raymie) Layman; grandchildren, Jillian, Everett, Ian, Austin and Colton all of Omaha; mother, Ruth Peters of Manson; sisters, Lynn Johnson of Pocahontas, Kaye (Mark) Knowles of Manson; brother, Mark (Sondra) Peters of Fort Dodge; aunt, Judy (Merle) Franzmeier of Palmer and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Gale was preceded in death by her father, Eldon; father and mother-in-law, Ernest and Lenore Pierce; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Pierce and Dean Johnson.
